Scholarships cover studies abroad
Government of Alberta media release
Eight Alberta students will complete their high school education at campuses around the world through the Alberta government’s Grant MacEwan United World College Scholarships. The scholarships, valued at $70,000 each, cover two years’ tuition and accommodation at one of 13 United World Colleges.
United World College is a British-based foundation that has a network of over 40,000 graduates. The scholarships in Alberta are named in honour of Grant MacEwan. Each year, the government of Alberta awards eight United World College Scholarships. Recipients are selected based on academic performance, leadership, volunteerism and citizenship.

ATA’s media excellence awarded
This year’s Canadian Educational Press Association (CEPA) conference was hosted by the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation. During the conference’s annual awards ceremony, the Alberta Teachers’ Association received Golden Leaf Awards for excellence in journalism, design and public relations. CEPA members represent teachers’ organizations across Canada. Members are active in journalism, publishing, public relations, photography and design.
